Why is it fine for girls to play with cars and not boys with dolls?
Why is the mom so confused and upset about this? If I had sons I would let them play with dolls. It's their life as long as it doesn't lead to going in jail, I would be okay with it. They should be what they want to be, not what ads and commercials tell them what to be. I think Everyone should be independent and do what they feel like doing. If playing with dolls teach little girls to care why can't boys learn to care too? As long as my son would WANT to play with a doll I would let him. I think if girls want to play with cars and boys want to play with dolls its fine. For their age they should be allowed to play with any toy so they can learn about the community and imagine. They should play with whatever they think is fun to play with. The advertisements that the toy companies send kids the wrong message, It tells kid what to be and what not to and stoping them from playing with things they think is fun. I think People think its okay for girls to play with cars but its not okay for boys to play with dolls because if you take a look at real life girls drive cars but boys don't go for a babysitting job and see a baby and start to play with it. So people might think that its a little weird. The mom was confused and upset about her son wanting a doll because her husband thinks its weird. She wanted to buy it because she thinks kids don't need to play with a female of male toy. You are only young for a while you should be able to play with dolls, cars and etc... without being criticized! She tried to change her sons mind which she knew she was doing something wrong but when she saw how much her son wanted it she gave up.
